3M's 675L Electrostatic diamond material is a paper backed diamond material where the diamonds are bonded to the surface with an adhesive. As the adhesive cures, the material is electrostatically charged so that the diamonds "stand up" in the adhesive. The diamonds will wave around under your glass as you grind with the belt giving your glass surface a very smooth, clean surface.
Due to the way this material is manufactured, the belts will last far less time than a typical electroplated diamond belt, but will give a faster, cleaner surface than a comparable silicon carbide belt in the same grit.
The Electrostatic Diamond Belts are fantastic for working with materials where you need a precise control over the ground surface and where a finer, cleaner surface prep is required.
