What's the difference between the EverRun bands and EverRun finishing bands?

The EverRun bands are a fantastic way to get into areas to finish off your glass work by using a 1/2 inch diamond band to grind and smooth down the area quickly and efficiently.

In the past the only bands we carried were the Diamond EverRun bands that had 3M 6002J electroplated diamond material formed into 1/2 inch bands in grits from 60, 120, 200, 400 and 800. Even in 800 grit, the electroplated diamond is too rough to actually polish from. In the past, you would have to use a square shaped smoothing point to try and clean up the area that the EverRun diamond bands were used on and then a felt bob with cerium for polish.

Just a few years ago, 3M formulated a new electrostatic diamond material called 675L. This electrostatic diamond material has many of the same qualities of the smoothing diamond material, but will cut faster and last longer. We have now made this electrostatic diamond material into 1/2 inch bands to compliment the electroplated EverRun bands and refer to these as EverRun Diamond Finishing bands as they are used after the regular EverRun bands to achieve a pre-polish surface quickly and efficiently with the same form factor as the current EverRun bands. We carry these EverRun Diamond Finishing bands in 300, 400, and 600 grit, but they will all give you a surface finer and easier to polish from than the electroplated 800 grit band. We also have a cerium impregnated band that will polish the area with just water.

I know it sounds crazy, but it works. Give them a try and I think you'll be very impressed with the results
